From Concept to Operation

Supporting customers through every stage of an Advanced Thermal Treatment project.

Successful Advanced Thermal Treatment projects involve much more than selecting a technology. They require a clear understanding of the feedstock, practical engineering, thoughtful project development and long-term operational support.

IQ Energy works alongside customers, EPC contractors, engineering consultants and project developers from the earliest project discussions through to commissioning and long-term operation, helping deliver practical Advanced Thermal Treatment infrastructure built around each project's unique requirements.

The Typical Project Journey

Every project is different, but most Advanced Thermal Treatment projects progress through these stages.

1. Initial Project Discussion

Understanding the Opportunity

Every project begins with understanding the customer's objectives.

Early discussions typically explore:

  • Existing residual management pathways

  • Feedstock characteristics

  • Opportunities for beneficial reuse and disposal reduction

  • Regulatory and environmental requirements

  • Project drivers and long-term objectives

Our role is to understand the project before recommending the most appropriate Advanced Thermal Treatment pathway, helping customers determine whether the technology is the right fit before significant engineering work begins.

2. Preliminary Project Assessment

Building an Initial Project Model

Following the initial discussion, IQ Energy will often request key project information through a short Request for Information (RFI).

Using this information, we develop a preliminary project assessment that may include:

  • Indicative treatment capacity

  • Preliminary equipment sizing

  • High-level process configuration

  • Initial capital and operating considerations

  • Early project risks and opportunities

This provides customers with an informed basis for determining whether the project should progress further.

3. Project Definition

Developing the Right Treatment Solution

As projects progress, IQ Energy works closely with customers and project partners to define the preferred treatment solution.

This stage commonly includes:

  • Feedstock characterisation

  • Plant sizing & site layout

  • Balance-of-plant requirements & utility requirements

  • Integration with commercial dryers (if required)

  • Energy recovery opportunities

  • Regulatory considerations

Every project is different, so the G-Series is configured around each project's feedstock and operating objectives while maintaining the confidence of a proven commercial platform.

4. Working with Project Partners

Delivering the Complete Facility

IQ Energy supplies and supports the Advanced Thermal Treatment platform while working alongside EPC contractors, engineering consultants and specialist equipment suppliers responsible for delivering the complete treatment facility.

While IQ Energy provides the core thermal treatment platform, every project also requires project-specific Balance of Plant (BoP) infrastructure configured around the feedstock, site and operational objectives.

IQ Energy typically provides

  • G-Series or HTP Series Advanced Thermal Treatment Platform

  • Integrated thermal oxidation and emissions control

  • Process engineering support

  • Equipment manufacture and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)

  • Commissioning support

  • Operator training

  • Long-term technical support

Typical Balance of Plant (BOP) may include

  • Commercial drying systems

  • Feed preparation and material handling

  • Conveying systems

  • Civil works and foundations

  • Buildings and utilities

  • Energy recovery systems (heat recovery, ORC)

  • Site integration and plant controls

IQ Energy works collaboratively with customers, EPC contractors and engineering consultants to integrate a proven Advanced Thermal Treatment platform within the wider Balance of Plant, ensuring the complete facility is configured around each project's feedstock, operational objectives and long-term performance requirements.

5. Project Delivery

Manufacturing, Testing and Delivery

Once a project proceeds, IQ Energy manufactures the G-Series platform before completing Factory Acceptance Testing and preparing the system for delivery.

Our modular approach supports efficient manufacturing, transport, installation and commissioning while maintaining consistent engineering standards across projects.

6. Commissioning & Training

Supporting Successful Start-Up

IQ Energy supports installation, commissioning, operator training and early operational optimisation to help customers transition confidently into commercial operation.

Support typically includes:

  • Commissioning assistance

  • Operator training

  • Performance optimisation

  • Process tuning

  • Documentation and handover

7. Long-Term Support

Supporting the Life of the Project

Our relationship does not end at commissioning.

IQ Energy can provide ongoing support throughout the operational life of the facility, including:

  • Remote technical support

  • Spare parts

  • Preventative maintenance guidance

  • Operational troubleshooting

  • Process optimisation

  • Future system upgrades and expansion support

The objective is not simply to supply equipment, but to help customers achieve reliable long-term Advanced Thermal Treatment performance.

Every Project is Different. Our Approach is Consistent.

No two residual streams are identical.

Feedstocks, regulations, operating objectives and existing infrastructure all vary from project to project.

That's why IQ Energy begins every engagement by understanding the project before configuring a proven Advanced Thermal Treatment platform around its specific requirements.

This approach combines the confidence of repeatable engineering with the flexibility required for successful infrastructure projects.

READY TO EVALUATE YOUR PROJECT?

Whether you're evaluating a new Advanced Thermal Treatment project or reviewing an existing residual management pathway, IQ Energy can prepare an initial project assessment based on your feedstock and project objectives.

Share a few details about your feedstock and annual tonnages and we'll prepare an initial project assessment to help determine the most appropriate treatment approach.
